The best pizza place…

Bear and I pulled up on Sunday night. I heard my name being called out in the parking lot as soon as I got out of the car. I turned around and saw my friend Aviant and Eric. It was their 2nd visit and because of me, they had discovered it. I realized she had also tagged me on IG! LOL We chatted for a bit and parted ways. I was starving.

After we ordered our pizza inside, I noticed a girl I knew as well. It was HER first visit and she stopped by because of my posts! HA!

I love it when I have an influence on people’s eating choices!

Totally last minute video I decided to do. After #doingJim, we decided to stop by for a quick bite and since I was already there and had my camera… decided to put together a little video. I kept my sunglasses on because I looked like shit. 😛

The food was amazing and they gave huge portions. I’m so bummed it took me this long to finally try it out.

If you like spicy, make sure you go and order The Logan!

I came to the office and had a sudden urge to want to eat Shake Shack. I felt it in the air… the line wouldn’t be long and I would be able to whiz in and whiz out. I asked everyone in the office if they would want anything… I was willing to pick up some food for those that didn’t want to leave to eat. I grabbed two people from my team and we were off. The traffic there was horrible on SM Blvd., but when we pulled into the parking lot, the line was short! Just outside of their front doors. We even found a parking spot right in front where it didn’t look like a spot so everyone missed it! Right next to the handicap spot right in front! It was our lucky day! We ordered a burger each and a chicken burger to share. I of course ate it all, half of my chicken burger and all of my burger with cheese fries and a small coke. It was freaking delicious! I doubt I’ll need to go back to Shake Shack in LA. I plan to go when I’m in NY for MDW though, as always!

Bear wasn’t feeling well so he insisted that we eat Korean + something soupy. My colleague has been telling me about this place in Koreatown that her husband and her frequent since their move to KTOWN.

I asked if they wanted to join and told my husband to meet us there at 7pm. I of course arrived 30 minutes earlier so I went to Cafe Bleu and sat at the bar while I waited.

The food was very traditional and flavorful. The first dish we ordered was some type of beef stew with lots of veggies which I liked. There were braised short ribs, tendon, brisket and ox tail. Tendon was my favorite. We also got the spicy galbi jjim (my husband’s favorite). It tasted better than any other spicy galbi jjim I’ve ever had.

I was more than impressed. What really makes a Korean restaurant stand out is their banchan (side dishes) and this place did NOT disappoint.

Everything was fresh and accompanied the dishes well. I finished my bowl of white rice. oink oink.

I’m not a fan of Chicago style pizza, but I am a fan of Masa! This place is intimate and the service is by far the best in Los Angeles (which isn’t a fine dining establishment). Everyone was so cheerful and attentive, the quality of every dish was above expectations and it was popping!

Thank god I made a reservation because we had five adults and three children. We ordered two pizzas, (my fave) gnocchi, salad and the bread pudding. By the way, their bread pudding is made from croissants. No wonder it’s so freaking buttery and out of this world. I love bread pudding to begin with so when our friend who frequents this place insisted we order it, I was on board. Little did we know it was made from croissants.

We got the meat lovers pizza and the other was a veggie. I preferred the veggie since Chicago style pizzas are already really heavy. Even their bread (that they serve pre-meal) was tasty.

Now time for me to talk about the gnocchi. Super garlicky, lots of mushrooms and cooked to perfection. I could have eaten the whole plate but I didn’t want to kill my husband that evening and the next day with my toots. 😛

I never thought I’d say this but I can’t wait to go back (to a place that’s known for their Chicago style pizza)!!!
