Every weekend we pick up my son and HAVE TO stop by our favorite pizza joint. Husband likes the Hawai’i Five O and son likes the Buffalo Chicken. I am all over the place with cheese, works, pepperoni, and the Bronx Bomber.
We try to always stop by on the way to pick him up and dropping him off but sometimes it’s hard. But at least once a round trip!
After having Ritter’s and having it be one of the worst experiences ever, I had to come back to Kettlebar and compare it to Oyster Bar in Vegas. Since then, I’ve gone back to Oyster Bar and it was not as tasty as I remembered it to be. It may have been due to the 1+ hour wait. Luckily I was in sneakers.
Okay, back to Kettlebar.
Kettlebar is delicious. I would have said it was #2 after Oyster Bar but now I’m not sure after my 2nd visit. It’s the closest I will say to my initial memory of what the best pan roast is. The flavor is creamy and though their spicy levels aren’t that spicy, I was still very satisfied… even with my leftovers.
Bear and I pulled up on Sunday night. I heard my name being called out in the parking lot as soon as I got out of the car. I turned around and saw my friend Aviant and Eric. It was their 2nd visit and because of me, they had discovered it. I realized she had also tagged me on IG! LOL We chatted for a bit and parted ways. I was starving.
After we ordered our pizza inside, I noticed a girl I knew as well. It was HER first visit and she stopped by because of my posts! HA!
I love it when I have an influence on people’s eating choices!
There are places we go at different stages in our lives and sometimes we forget about them until one day we realize we haven’t been in a while. Curry House is one of them. I had not been since… before 2010. I used to love their beef curry with a side of mushrooms, extra spicy. I would also add the hot drops in addition to getting the curry at the spiciest level. We went to a location that was off the beaten path. Somewhere near Santa Ana (didn’t know Mexicans liked curry), it was empty and different. I think they changed their branding over the years, their menu, entrees, sides, decor, it was all unfamiliar. The service was great but I felt out of place.
I ordered my usual but it didn’t taste the same. They didn’t offer just mushrooms so I had to request it. Now it’s a side of veggies. I still enjoyed it but not has much as I remembered… although the radishes were still the same. I want to go back, to a different more familiar location. Maybe possibly, we shall see.
My son’s favorite flavor is the mint monster. We recently visited this over hyped dessert place and all my son could do was rave about Afters Ice Cream. The funny thing is, I did a vlog and he keeps saying it as I’m recording it. Will be live on 6/12 at 9:30am!
My husband always wants to go to Afters too. Now that he knows there is a location in Cerritos, he is always begging me to go with him. As for me, I don’t want to wait in line so I never go with him. If I do, I wait in the car. But I better have a full charge cause I’ll be waiting for a while playing on my phone!
