I put my name on the wait list last time I visited the bar to watch Katharine McPhee for Seth MacFarlane. Lucky me, I got the call on Thursday for an opening. 🙂 He made an appearance during her performance and I really wanted to watch him live. I had watched him on the Sinatra’s 100th Tribute show on television and was amazed by his voice.
Unfortunately, my husband was not able to join. Since he has class every Mondays and Wednesdays, I ended up taking my friend CS. We enjoyed two bottles of this amazing sauvignon blanc, lobster mac & cheese, beet salad and shrimp cocktail. We enjoyed the music, his signing and the band for a hour and was sad when it ended. I can’t wait to go back. These moments are priceless and I don’t have enough of them in my life!
I had tried the pinot gris at #lksddowney and loved it. NEVER knew they had a rose version until we visited Lukas Liquor while visiting my in-laws in Leawood, Kansas. We had a wedding to go to on Saturday and I picked up two cans for the trip. I only needed one because it’s about two full glasses per can. I will say, I do like the pinot gris better than the rose but both are quite divine. I don’t think I’ve ever enjoyed a roadie before and I was extremely happy about the convenience of this drink. I hope they make a sparkling wine version, I’d be all over that!
I needed breakfast and I wanted a smoothie so I found this place on Yelp and got there right at their opening hour, 7am. I had to go to MDR and had just left the gym so I was in a rush. It was 7:02am, and like the crazy person I am, I started peeping through the window/blinds and knocking. I could see that someone was in there moving around. I even snapped a photo and screenshotted it so it can show the time I was there and the unopened status of the business. (I should delete that). 7:05am, he finally opened the door and I ordered the Acai smoothie with granola. It was so tasty and not overpowering. Great breakfast!
We had our second meal in Fort Collins at Silver Grill Cafe. We had brunch the day before at Lucile’s Creole Cafe. They had a bloody mary bar that we couldn’t resist, although with so many options, I think I enjoy it better when the establishment has their way of concocting their mix. I got the huevos rancheros with chorizo, but I wish I just kept the chorizo out like they have it originally on their menu. The chorizo made it a bit salty. I have videos from my trip, so will edit and upload soon! If you’re ever in Fort Collins, these two places are a MUST TRY!
What I enjoyed about Silver Grill Cafe was that they really took care of their customers. In the back they had a coffee bar and firepit going for the cold weather. Plenty of seats while we waited. TA got the beer braised corn beef hash which was super tasty and filling. I’m already thinking about my next visit to Fort Collins!

I came to the office and had a sudden urge to want to eat Shake Shack. I felt it in the air… the line wouldn’t be long and I would be able to whiz in and whiz out. I asked everyone in the office if they would want anything… I was willing to pick up some food for those that didn’t want to leave to eat. I grabbed two people from my team and we were off. The traffic there was horrible on SM Blvd., but when we pulled into the parking lot, the line was short! Just outside of their front doors. We even found a parking spot right in front where it didn’t look like a spot so everyone missed it! Right next to the handicap spot right in front! It was our lucky day! We ordered a burger each and a chicken burger to share. I of course ate it all, half of my chicken burger and all of my burger with cheese fries and a small coke. It was freaking delicious! I doubt I’ll need to go back to Shake Shack in LA. I plan to go when I’m in NY for MDW though, as always!
After brunch we decided to have two hard cider flights! We were so full but we didn’t care. In Fort Collins Colorado, this place is known to have the best hard cider in the state(?). Every cider we tasted was delicious and refreshing. I can’t wait to go back.

I love practical things. Wine in a can, super practical, fucking brilliant and very tasty. I’ve seen it before at LKSD but I had never tried it. It was just the way I enjoy Pinot Grigio! If you haven’t tried it, go find a place, or better yet, visit LKSD DOWNEY and order one with the Cheetos Pie. You’ll love me forever!
