I’ve been seeing and hearing about this spot for a while now and to confirm that I should visit, a friend from New York raved about it a few trips back. I knew I had to go ASAP. It did take me almost half a year since my NY friend told me about it but I made it. Too bad my son was not with us because there were many more dishes I wanted to order. It was just my husband and I and even then, we ordered too much. Everything was exactly what I wanted. Dan Dan noodles were my fave and the pork buns… well, I’ve never had anything like it before and I don’t know why. It was fluffy with a crispy bottom and the pork inside was juice and piping hot. All the other items were amazalicious and I need to figure out when I’ll be going back. I love me some Chinese food and the more authentic it is, I’m hooked. I haven’t been to China, but I imagine it would be piglet heaven for me.
I love Peking Duck and IDK why I just discovered this heaven on Earth! I was looking for restaurants to eat at few trips ago, but never made it out. The second time I visited NY after discovering this place I had to visit (since I didn’t the trip before.) I have no idea when this place was established but I assume a while ago and I’m still mad at myself for barely getting to it NOW!
We met my friend and his gf for dinner and I had no idea they didn’t serve buns until about an hour before dinner. I was a bit disappointed but I got over it. The beautiful duck arrived in a posing position (which I didn’t take a photo of because they started shaving the meat off before I realized it arrived) with all the accompaniments. Thick cut cucumbers and green onions, tortilla looking thing, hoison sauce and the other dishes. I can’t remember the price but it was a per person price with two entrees and such. We got the broccoli beef and garlic shrimp. Everything was very flavorful and not MSG infused. 😛
I gobbled up two of the wraps and ate as much as I could with the rest of the items.
I was really bummed about not getting an Instagram worthy photo of the duck but a soon as I took a bite of the wrap, I forgot about it. I did get upset when they took the duck away after they made all the wraps. Oh and the cucumbers and green onions.
I love onions, so I of course asked for it back.
Now that I’ve tried this place, this has been added to my #MUSTGO list when I visit NY. My next trip is planned for #MDW, so I cannot wait!!!
White boba??? I was sold! JK, I was sold on the Matcha Coconut Milk Tea. It was as yummy as it sounds. I met an old classmate to discuss future food vlogging and we decided to meet in Cerritos. I screenshotted a list of places that came up on Yelp and she picked Fusion Tea Bar. They offer traditional, white and some other kind of boba and I opted to get white. Well, since white is right. JK.
The place was small but we were able to grab a seat and our drinks came out quicky. They also offered an array of desserts which all looked tasty but I didn’t want to get fat. Their macarons were huge and I think were priced at $2.50 or $3.50, which are a bit on the higher end. But I figured it was because they were over-sized! Next time I go, I’ll have to try!
When my family was still together… when we all lived in Downey, we frequented this restaurant. Almost every week, I want to say. I remember enjoying all their dishes so much and I would look forward to eating here. I especially loved the fortune cookies growing up.
I hadn’t been back in so long and I was craving black bean noodles. (I see a place called Mr. Lee’s does better).
For two people, we ordered a lot of food. But you know, I like variety.
The sucky part about this meal was that I woke up super swollen and even immediately after, I was bloated. I can always tell by my midi rings. They fit so tight that I need to remove them. (I usually don’t, EVER.)
Are there Chines/Korean restaurants that do not use MSG? I’d love to know because I seem to get swollen, every time I eat Chinese/Korean cuisine.
This places used to be bomb.com, now it’s just painful. I can enjoy a meal while shoveling it down my throat but if it makes me feel like shit even 12 hours after, we have a problem.
Is it possible to order too much food? Yes, it is and it is a crime I always commit.
I believe this was shared among three people. Always get the cucumber, always get the dumplings, always get alcohol. 😛
South Coast Plaza location is crazy. The wait is always a minimum of 2 hours and I still go. Gives me a reason to eat something yummy AND shop a little before I eat. I gotta make sure I burn enough calories walking around and trying stuff on before consuming all this food! 🙂
I love this place so much.
I will try to eat here every time I come to OC to pick up or drop off Tyler. We got the Capital Filet Mignon Cube with tomato rice, green beans (too salty) and the shrimp rolls. I love this place because they serve the pickled serranos like Thai places. If you’re ever in OC, make sure to eat here! So yummy!
Pretty amazing for leftovers. I was full but I ate most of my plate. LOVED the green beans too!
